Dorm questions
Do I need a kitchen?
Yes, and honestly better than the sprouts at the store. They're crisp and fresh because you eat them minutes after picking.
Does it need sunlight?
No lights and no sunny windowsill. Room light is plenty, and you want it out of direct sun. Leave it somewhere open so it gets airflow rather than shut in a closet. It greens up on its own by the last day.
Do they smell?
A little, and more if your room is over 73°F. That's the sulphuric nature of the plant. It shouldn't smell rotten. If it does, toss the batch and start over.
What happens over break?
Nothing. Finish your batch, rinse the jar, and leave it. Start again when you're back.
Rinse it in the sink. It's dishwasher safe if you've got one, but it doesn't need one.
