Pea-Nutty Chocolate Smoothie

Green pea sprouts add a fresh, slightly sweet note without overpowering the classic combo of chocolate peanut butter. No dates? Substitute 1 tbsp maple syrup to sweeten the smoothie. You can also make it nut-free — swap peanut butter from sunflower seed butter.

Serves 2 (serving size: 1 cup)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green pea sprouts
  • 1 cup oat milk (or preferred milk)
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup ice
  • 2 soft dates, pitted

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a blender; blend on high until smooth and creamy. 
  2. Divide the mixture into two glasses; serve immediately.
