Mexican Chocolate Smoothie

This creamy smoothie combines rich cacao and warming cinnamon with the unexpected peppery kick of broccoli sprouts for a bold and nutritious twist. No maple syrup? Use honey, agave nectar, or any liquid sweetener of your choice.

Serves 2 (serving size: 1 cup)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or preferred milk)
  • ½ cup high-glucoraphanin broccoli sprouts, loosely packed
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup
  • ½ medium banana, frozen
  • ¼ avocado
  • ½ cup ice

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as desired.
  3. Divide the mixture into two glasses; serve immediately.
